NEW YORK — May there be a Taylor Swift new album rollout with out a few extra surprises?

No.

On Friday, the pop star launched her eleventh album, “The Tortured Poets Division,” an amalgamation of her earlier work and reflecting the artist who — on the peak of her powers — has spent the previous few years re-recording her life’s work and touring its materials, filtered by synth-pop anthems, breakup ballads, provocative and matured concerns.

However that was midnight. At 2 a.m. Jap, she launched “The Tortured Poets Division: The Anthology,” that includes 15 extra songs.

“I’d written a lot tortured poetry prior to now 2 years and needed to share all of it with you, so right here’s the second installment,” Swift wrote in an Instagram caption. “And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”

The songs are a pure continuation of the primary half of the album; many return to her “evermore” and “folklore” sound, with an help from her collaborator Aaron Dessner.

This isn’t Swift’s first time stunning her followers, and positively not her first time doing so with a shock album launch. A number of months after “folklore” was launched in 2020, she introduced “evermore” would arrive on the midnight the identical day.
