‘Trendy Love Podcast’: Brittany Howard Sings By the Pangs of New Love
Brittany Howard, the five-time Grammy Award-winning singer, makes vibrant, dynamic music about love.
Because the frontwoman of the band Alabama Shakes, she was celebrated for the ability and emotionality of her voice. When she started her solo profession in 2019 with “Jaime,” an album named after and devoted to her older sister, who died at 13, Howard revealed new dimensions of her songwriting and herself.
Her newest album, “What Now,” captures the depth of processing the previous and beginning anew. Immediately, Howard reads a Trendy Love essay in regards to the braveness it takes to fall again in love: “Was She Simply One other Properly Packaged Ache Supply System?” by Judith Fetterley.
